On "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor"

From The Dispatch:
Even if you ignore the fact that by setting the film in China the filmmakers have removed the franchise completely out of its element, there are signs of trouble right from the beginning. When we are first introduced to Evey, she is at a public book reading for her "Mummy" books about her previous adventures. When a guest asks her if the female character was based on her, she looks up and says, "I can honestly say that she is a completely different person." It is a terrible way to acknowledge the change in actresses, and the movie continues to devolve from there - from the complete lack of chemistry between Fraser and Bello, to the substandard special effects, to the heroic band of fighting yeti.
