On "Lakeview Terrace"

āLakeview Terraceā is a serviceable film that aspires to be a multilayered exploration of racial themes, but never quite coalesces into a satisfying whole. And while this is by no means a heinous crime against cinema, it is indicative of a larger ādumbing downā trend in American cinema, which takes weighty material and saddles it with lame, unnecessary action.
